Administrative approval has been given for construction of barrage at Ambod village on Sabarmati river. The barrage will be built at a cost of over Rs. 220 crores. Administrative approval has been given by Minister of Water Resources as part of series of barrage scheme. The barrage will store 210 million cubic feet of water. The lake will be constructed in a length of 6 to 7 km area. About 1100 hectares of land will benefit through irrigation across eight villages of Mansa, Gandhinagar, Prantij. The government plans to complete scheme in the next one and a half years.
