The city’s famed riverfront is set to be extended by 22km, up to the Pethapur thermal power plant in Gandhinagar. The project, to be executed in five stages (Phases 3 to 7), will improve connectivity between various areas and reduce traffic congestion. The total length of the riverfront after the extension will be 38.5km, making it the world’s longest riverfront, according to the senior urban development department officials.
