Traffic police in Ahmedabad city have been working on several aspects including traffic awareness programs to reduce road accidents and prevent human deaths due to these accidents, along with identifying areas that have become accident zones and improving road engineering. As a result, in the last 10 months, 106 road accidents have been reduced and Ahmedabad Traffic Police has succeeded in saving 90 human lives according a note released by th State government. It further stated that the Minister of State for Home Shri Harsh Sanghvi has appreciated the work done by Ahmedabad Police including research related to this type of traffic. In some districts including Dahod, this type of multi-dimensional analysis has resulted into commendable work to reduce road accidents, while instructions have been given to imitate it in other districts as well.
