Akshat has seen a lot in the 10 months of his life so far—from being abandoned when he was just a few days old to screaming in pain for months because of a health condition to finally getting operated upon. He can now gurgle with joy, thanks to Falgun and Aarti Desai, but for whom he would have continued to suffer from pain due to ureteropelvic junction obstruction, a condition where he could not pass urine completely. The couple first saw the infant at Shishu Gruh, an orphanage in Paldi. When the authorities informed them about his condition, they decided to get him treated. On the advice of their friend Dr. Rikin Shah, an orthopedic surgeon, they took him to Cherub Children Surgical Hospital where he was operated on May 5.
