The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) cancelled the results of a Nadiad student caught using a digital watch with social media platforms to cheat during class 10 exams and barred him from appearing in exams for two years. The exam committee will also decide any further punishment to be given to the student. The Board hearing cases of students caught cheating in class 10 had on Tuesday called 103 students on Tuesday of which only 48 students remained present. Of the 48, five students were caught by supervisors with mobile phones. An exam committee member present during the exam said, “The student was from Nadiad was present for the hearing with his digital watch. He admitted to cheating and said social media apps can be easily accessed through the watch and that the watch had features that helped him receive answers to questions.
