Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) will release green bonds of Rs 200 crore for the Green Projects. SMC has made a proposal of the Green Bond worth Rs 200 crore to the state government. The central government will provide 10 percent incentive for the Green Bond, which is equivalent to Rs 20 crore. SMC has planned to generate revenue for four projects of the cost of Rs 497 crore through the Green Bond. SMC will spend Rs 173.38 crore from self funding, Rs 124.11 crore from government grants and Rs 200 crore from the bond.
