A 25-year-old man, Samarth Navadiya, sustained severe injuries when a Chinese manja (thread) slashed his throat on the Amroli-Sayan Road overbridge on Monday. Navadiya was immediately rushed to two hospitals and underwent emergency surgery at Kiran Hospital, where three surgeons worked together to treat him. Doctors reported that the thread caused significant damage to major blood vessels in Navadiya’s neck. The blood loss was so severe that he required four units of blood during the operation. ENT surgeon Dr. Yash Lavana explained that the internal jugular vein and carotid artery were severed, potentially leading to brain drainage. A vascular surgeon and a head and neck surgeon were called in to help repair the extensive damage, which required 50 stitches internally and 15 externally. .....
