Vaishnavs in the city organized a large rally of bikes and cars today to protest the Netflix movie “Maharaj.” The protest began at the Kirti Stambh and moved through the city, concluding at the collector’s office. Participants, including Vadodara MP Hemang Joshi and MLA Keyur Rokadia, demanded a ban on the film. The rally was organized by the Vallabh Youth Organization (VYO) and Vaishnav Innerfaith Pushtimargiya Organization (VIPO) Global. People alleged that the movie insults Hindu gods and goddesses and portrays them inaccurately, sparking widespread condemnation.
