Celebrated as Rangwali Holi since morning people smear each other with colours. Many use water guns and water-filled balloons to play and colour each other. Everyone from friends to strangers, rich and poor, man or woman, children and elders celebrate the festival barring cast and creed with colours in open streets, open parks, outside temples and buildings. Groups carry drums and other musical instruments, go from place to place, sing and dance. People visit family and friends throw coloured powders on each other, laugh, gossip and share Holi delicacies, food and drinks. Vadodara also celebrates the festival with great joy as from top officials to common people everyone play with colours and extend their wishes to everyone. Vadodara police commissioner Anupam Sinh Gahlaut, Collector Shalini Agarwal along with other officials celebrate dhuleti at the Alkapuri officers club and extend their wishes.
