Starting February 1st, a new digital attendance system for employees and officers will be introduced across all blocks of the new state secretariat, the Gandhinagar Collector and DDO office, Karmayogi Bhavan, and all government offices in Udyog Bhavan. This system will be implemented on a pilot basis for three months, while the existing attendance system will continue to function concurrently. According to the General Administration Department, this new attendance system is being introduced to ensure regularity and discipline among officers and employees of various government departments, thereby enhancing the efficiency of governance. The system will help regulate attendance more effectively and monitor officers and employees who arrive late. Additionally, it will offer features such as office location mapping, attendance tracking, data analysis, and reporting. In the new system, an employee’s location will be tracked through their smartphone using geo-fencing from the time they enter the office complex until they leave. ........
