Gujarat Propels India’s Ambition to Become a Global Semiconductor Leader | Indo-Taiwan industrial park to be set-up in Sanand-Dholera
- Investment Goals: The project is expected to attract over ₹1,000 crore in foreign direct investment (FDI), primarily from Taiwanese industries. - Job Creation: Approximately 12,000 direct employment opportunities are projected to be generated over the next five years. - Target Sectors: The park will focus on critical advanced technology sectors, including: > Semiconductors and electronics manufacturing. > Electric vehicles (EVs) and robotics. > High-tech supply chain ecosystems. The Gujarat government has partnered with Taiwan-based Allegiance International Co Ltd to establish an Indo-Taiwan Industrial Park in the Sanand-Dholera region. This strategic collaboration, formalised through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 10 April 2026, aims to transform the state into a global high-tech manufacturing hub. Key Highlights of the Partnershi Strategic Importance According to officials from the Gujarat Department of Science and Technology (DST), the initiative is closely aligned with the India Semiconductor Mission. The Sanand-Dholera corridor is already a focal point for the state’s industrial ambitions, with semiconductor-related projects worth more than ₹1.24 lakh crore currently under development. Leadership and Execution The MoU was signed in Gandhinagar in the presence of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and Science and Technology Minister Arjun Modhwadia. Simon Lee, Chairman of Allegiance Group and Vice President of the Taiwan Chamber of Commerce in India, executed the agreement alongside P. Bharathi, Secretary of the DST. Allegiance International will serve as a facilitator for Indian and Taiwanese enterprises looking to set up operations in the state.
