River Sabarmati which remains full of water ever since the Sabarmati Riverfront is in place, will be seen dry and without water for a few days, as the Sabarmati Riverfront Development Corporation Ltd (SRFDCL) has decided to release the water from Vasna barrage for pre-monsoon repair work of barrage. SRFDCL has in a note informed that in response to demand by the Executive Engineer’s Office, Ahmedabad Irrigation Department, Narmada Water Resources and Kalpsar Department, Government of Gujarat, gate repair work has been undertaken at Vasna Barrage considering the dam’s safety and the pre-monsoon repairs.
