The Arasuri Ambaji Mata Devasthan Trust has decided to restrict the height of flags hoisted on the golden peak of the Ambaji Temple to a maximum of 5 metres, citing pilgrim safety and preservation of religious traditions. The decision, taken after technical inspections and consultations with temple priests and experts, will come into effect from January 1, 2026. Officials noted that pilgrims currently hoist flags of various sizes, including very long flags, on the temple peak, which has raised concerns over structural safety and potential accidents. The trust stated that multiple flags and heavy flagpoles could damage the peak and pose risks during peak pilgrimage days. It has also been observed that excessively long flags sometimes touch the ground, hurting the religious sentiments of devotees. ........
