Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Gujarat on June 5, 2026, where he will inaugurate and lay foundation stones for development projects worth more than ₹18,777 crore jointly undertaken by the Government of India and the Government of Gujarat from Surat. Among the major projects are eight Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC) initiatives worth ₹1,063.43 crore, aimed at accelerating industrial growth in South Gujarat. Of these, projects worth more than ₹894 crore are located in Bharuch, while projects worth ₹169.3 crore are in Valsad. The initiatives are expected to strengthen industrial infrastructure, effluent disposal systems and drainage management across the region.
