Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit his home state of Gujarat on September 8, where he is set to inaugurate and lay the foundation stones for railway projects worth a total of ₹30,766 crore at a programme in Vadodara. The projects, being taken up by the Ministry of Railways, include new railway lines, doubling and gauge conversion works, as well as new sections of the Dedicated Freight Corridor (DFC). The initiatives are aimed at expanding rail capacity, easing congestion and improving passenger and freight movement across Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh. Among the major projects is the 259-km Vadodara-Ratlam third and fourth railway line, for which the foundation stone will be laid. Estimated at ₹8,885 crore, the project is expected to strengthen capacity on the existing route and facilitate smoother movement of passenger and freight trains. .........
