With the city preparing to host the 2030 Commonwealth Games and also bidding for the 2036 Olympic Games, the Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) is planning a major expansion of its transport infrastructure to improve connectivity between the airport and the Narendra Modi Stadium. A key project in the plan is the proposed Koteshwar-Hansol river bridge, which is expected to provide a direct link between the airport and the stadium. The civic body has already approved two 30-metre-wide roads leading towards the Sabarmati River under the Town Planning (TP) schemes of Koteshwar and Hansol. It is learnt that the civic body is undertaking comprehensive planning ahead of the Commonwealth Games, with a focus on widening approach roads and developing new road networks leading to the Narendra Modi Stadium. .......
