The Union Territory of Daman has received a major boost to its tourism and transport connectivity with the launch of direct air services to Ahmedabad and Mumbai. The services, operated by Alliance Air from Tuesday, will allow tourists and local residents to travel between Daman and the two major cities by air at relatively affordable fares. The new services are part of the Centre’s efforts under the UDAN (Ude Desh Ka Aam Naagrik) scheme, which aims to make air travel more accessible to the common citizen by improving connectivity to regional destinations. As per the schedule issued by Alliance Air, the flight will take off from Mumbai at 7:05 am and land in Daman at 7:45 am. It will then depart from Daman at 8:10 am and arrive in Ahmedabad at 9:20 am. .........
