Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation (GMRC) recorded a sharp rise in passenger traffic during the IPL 2026 final held at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Motera on May 31, with total metro ridership increasing by 66% compared to the previous Sunday. According to GMRC, a total of 1,95,868 passenger journeys were recorded across the Ahmedabad-Gandhinagar Metro network on Sunday, up from 1,17,939 journeys registered on May 24. To manage the surge in demand from cricket fans attending the IPL final, GMRC operated 62 additional metro train services over and above its regular schedule. .......
