The Ahmedabad Police and Crime Branch on Wednesday carried out a large-scale overnight operation targeting suspected illegal Bangladeshi immigrants in several parts of the city, including Naroda, Dani Limda, Vatva, Vatva GIDC, Chandola, Gulabnagar and Khodiyarnagar. The operation forms part of a statewide drive launched by the Gujarat Home Department against foreign nationals allegedly residing illegally in the state. Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Sharad Singhal said, “Operation Delta Hunt has been launched across Gujarat. The operation is also being carried out in Ahmedabad under the supervision of the Commissioner of Police. More than 30 teams, including personnel from the Crime Branch, Cyber Cell, SOG and local police units, were formed. These teams were deployed in areas such as Naroda, Dani Limda, Vatva, Vatva GIDC, Juhapura and other localities.” ........
