The Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC), in joint operation with the Flying Squad of the Food and Drug Control Authority (FDCA), based in Gandhinagar, conducted a surprise inspection at Shri Matangi Dairy and Food Products, located in the Kathwada area of Ahmedabad city. During the inspection, food safety officials seized 452 litres of suspected ghee worth an estimated Rs 2.85 lakh from the premises, and the entire factory was sealed. The FDCA stated that the legal action was initiated due to strong suspicion of adulteration, an extremely low selling price, the absence of necessary purchase and sale documents, and the lack of a valid food licence. ......
