Ahmedabad is set to get its first modern rotary parking facility, with construction underway at the Ratanpol junction near Relief Road, one of the city’s busiest commercial areas. The initiative has been undertaken by the Central Zone Engineering Department of the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) with the objective of expanding parking capacity and providing a more organized and convenient parking facility for traders, shoppers and visitors in the area. The rotary parking system is designed to make more efficient use of limited urban space. A key feature of the facility is its ability to accommodate around 12 cars simultaneously in an area that would normally accommodate only two cars. This represents an increase in parking capacity of approximately six times compared with conventional parking in the same footprint. .........
