The Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) Food Safety Department has sealed a food manufacturing unit in Gota for alleged irregularities in product preparation and labelling. Officials seized 10,630 kg of finished products and raw materials worth ₹4.20 lakh and collected five samples for laboratory testing. The unit, I Shree Khodiyar Gruh Udhyog, located at Meldi Estate, manufactured products including fruit cordials and squashes. During the inspection, officials found that a ketchup-like product was made using potatoes, starch, sugar, food colours and other ingredients, without tomatoes. The department said the product’s appearance and labelling could mislead consumers. The unit also failed to provide purchase invoices to verify ingredients listed on its product labels. .........
