A major mishap was averted at Hirasar International Airport in Rajkot on Tuesday morning after an Air India flight bound for Delhi suffered a bird strike shortly after take-off, forcing the aircraft to return and make a precautionary emergency landing. The flight, carrying around 124 passengers, took off from Hirasar Airport when it was struck by a bird moments after departure. Following the incident, the pilot detected a possible technical issue and decided to return to the airport as a safety measure. Thanks to the pilot’s prompt response and adherence to safety protocols, the aircraft landed safely, and all passengers and crew members remained unharmed. After the aircraft landed, a technical inspection was carried out by the airline’s engineering team. Preliminary findings revealed damage to one of the engine’s fan blades caused by the bird strike. Repair work on the affected components was subsequently initiated. Officials said the aircraft will undergo a comprehensive technical assessment before being cleared for service. Following repairs, it will be subjected to further inspections and mandatory checks in accordance with aviation safety regulations. The aircraft will be allowed to resume operations only after all required inspections and trial procedures are successfully completed. .......
