A joint team of the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) from Delhi and Surat busted an illegal drug manufacturing unit operating from a rented house in the Gadkhol area of Ankleshwar and seized suspected Mephedrone (MD) worth around ₹40 lakh. During the raid, officials recovered the suspected MD drug, raw materials used in its production, and equipment allegedly used to manufacture the narcotic. Preliminary investigation revealed that a room in the rented house had been converted into a makeshift laboratory where the chemical process for manufacturing the drug was being carried out. The DRI team seized the incriminating material and sealed the premises. Three suspects allegedly linked to the operation have been detained for questioning.
