Gujarat recorded a strong rise in its post-settlement Goods and Services Tax (GST) revenue in May 2026, driven by higher settlements from the Integrated GST (IGST) pool, according to data released by the Union Finance Ministry. The state’s post-settlement State GST (SGST) revenue, which includes SGST collections as well as the SGST share of IGST settled to the state increased to ₹7,181 crore in May 2026, marking a 16% year-on-year growth from ₹6,166 crore collected in May 2025. On a pre-settlement basis, Gujarat collected ₹4,024 crore in SGST during May 2026, registering a 3% increase compared to ₹3,898 crore in the corresponding month last year. At the national level, post-settlement SGST collections across states and Union Territories rose by 6% to ₹88,188 crore in May 2026 from ₹82,874 crore a year earlier. Pre-settlement SGST collections also grew by 3%, increasing to ₹45,143 crore from ₹43,902 crore in May 2025. ........
