The Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) has begun planning four new bridges at major traffic-prone locations in the city as part of efforts to ease congestion. The proposed bridges are planned at Alkapuri, Sussen Circle, Soma Talav Circle and Gotri Yash Complex Circle. VMC has started preparing designs and preliminary cost estimates for the four projects. The move comes as the city continues to face traffic congestion at several major junctions, particularly during peak hours. The proposed Alkapuri bridge is expected to address multiple issues, including traffic congestion near the railway station and Circuit House, as well as waterlogging at Alkapuri Garnala during the monsoon. VMC has also started the process of seeking the required permission from the Railway Department for the project. ........
