Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) is organising a special Garba event titled ‘Viksit Bharat Sankalp Garba’ on October 7, ahead of Navratri to commemorate 25 years of Prime Minister Narendra Modi holding constitutional office. The event will feature a performance by Atul Purohit, the globally renowned Garba singer, along with his group. Entry to the event will be free. It is interesting to note that Atul Purohit is former employee of VMC. United Way, the organization that holds Atul Purohit’s Garba every year has partnered with VMC to hold this free event. A major attraction of the programme will be an attempt to enter the Guinness World Records for the highest number of Garba players performing at a single ground.
