The second phase of the proposed 75-metre ring road around Vadodara city has received in-principle approval, paving the way for construction of a 17.56-km stretch along with bridges, underpasses and other civil infrastructure. The second phase is estimated to cost around ₹483 crore and is expected to be completed within 18 months, with the target set for 2028. Ring roads are considered important for improving connectivity between urban and rural areas and easing traffic movement around cities. The Vadodara Urban Development Authority (VUDA) had proposed 75-metre and 90-metre ring roads around the city as part of its development plans.
