Data released by Ahmedabad Metro Rail indicates a trend of passenger growth, with a particularly noteworthy surge observed in March 2025. The statistics, tracking passenger journeys in lakhs, highlight the increasing reliance on the metro system by the city’s commuters. A comparison of passenger numbers across the first three months of 2023, 2024, and 2025 reveals a positive trajectory. In January 2023, the metro recorded 27.15 lakh journeys, which saw a slight dip to 25.38 lakh in February before rebounding to 26.99 lakh in March. The following year, 2024, demonstrated a stronger start with 40.21 lakh passengers in January, followed by 34.48 lakh in February and 36.29 lakh in March. This significant increase from the previous year suggested growing adoption of the metro services. The trend appears to be continuing into 2025, with January recording 35.88 lakh passenger journeys, followed by 35.04 lakh in February. Notably, March 2025 witnessed a significant jump in ridership, reaching 35.89 lakh passengers. ........
