The Government of India’s Road Transport and Highway Minister has made amendments in Central Motor Vehicle Act rules. – 45 days limit for representation of complain against e-chalan. Online complaint can be filed within 45 days on e-chalan portal. – It no complaint is filed against e-chalan issuance within 45 days, it will be considered that chalan is accepted. Payment of fine will need to be done in such case within 30 days. – If fine is not paid in prescribed time frame, the vehicle will face central blocking under the term ‘Not to be transacted’ until entire sum is paid. No administrative procedure such as driving license, RC book and others will be possible. ........
