The Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) Health-Food Department sealed two bakeries in the city’s South Zone during inspections carried out under the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006, and the GPMC Act. Muskaan Bakery, located at Golder Park behind Willsom Hotel in Narol-Lambha, was sealed after officials found that the unit did not have the required food safety licence or registration. The inspection also found non-compliance with Schedule 4 hygiene requirements, absence of a pest control certificate and bakery products being prepared under unhygienic conditions. Prince Bakery, located behind Chipa Society in Behrampura, was also sealed. Officials found unhygienic conditions and violations of Schedule 4 requirements. Insects were reportedly found in the flour, and the unit did not have a pest control certificate. ......
