Surat International Airport has expanded its use of renewable energy through solar power generation and procurement of green electricity, along with measures to reuse treated wastewater. The airport has installed two solar photovoltaic (PV) plants with a combined capacity of 140 kWp. The plants generate about 533 units of electricity a day, amounting to approximately 17,000 units a month. The solar installations reduce the airport’s electricity expenditure by around ₹1.26 lakh per month, according to the information provided by the airport authorities. ........
