Due to the ongoing construction of the elevated corridor on SG Highway, the approximately 1.2-km stretch from YMCA Junction to Karnavati Club Junction has remained closed to motorists for the last eight months. However, the road is now expected to reopen to traffic from August 1. Maps According to officials, the work was delayed after engineers encountered an extremely hard rock formation while excavating for the ramp pillars. A special ‘diamond machine’ had to be brought in from outside to break through the rock.
