Gujarat Deputy Chief Minister and Health Minister Harsh Sanghavi on Sunday inaugurated several new and upgraded healthcare facilities at New Civil Hospital and Government Medical College, Surat, including a 30-bed state-of-the-art dialysis centre and expanded critical-care infrastructure. The Medical ICU and Surgical ICU have each been expanded from 10 to 20 beds, while an Isolation ICU for organ donation patients, an upgraded Emergency Department and a new patient Help Desk were also inaugurated. Sanghavi said the 1,500-bed Civil Hospital caters to 4,500–5,000 OPD patients daily, with its doctors and nursing staff providing round-the-clock care.
