NRI deposits in banks across the state grew 12.4% year-on-year to ₹1,22,363.74 crore in the first quarter of 2026-27, compared with ₹1,08,897.99 crore in the corresponding period last year, marking an increase of around ₹13,466 crore, according to the latest State Level Bankers’ Committee (SLBC) Gujarat report. Ahmedabad continued to lead the state, accounting for ₹27,326.02 crore, or 22.3% of Gujarat’s total NRI deposits. Vadodara ranked second with ₹19,447.11 crore, followed by Kutch at ₹18,212.65 crore. Together, the three districts accounted for more than half of the state’s NRI deposit base. Anand ranked fourth with ₹9,746.58 crore, while Surat and Rajkot followed with ₹9,480.82 crore and ₹9,368.49 crore, respectively. Both districts recorded strong year-on-year growth, with Surat rising from ₹8,268.46 crore in June 2025 and Rajkot increasing from ₹8,597.65 crore. ...........
