Around 350 students admitted to the five-year integrated undergraduate law course for the 2026-27 academic session at Nirma University’s Institute of Law, located on SG Highway in the city, are facing difficulties over delays in hostel facilities and the commencement of classes, allegedly due to administrative lapses by the university. According to the students’ parents, the university collected an annual academic fee of Rs. 4.25 lakh per student in May, amounting to around Rs. 15 crore in total. The academic session was initially scheduled to begin on July 19 but was later postponed to August 1, with the administration citing pending work on a new 10-storey hostel building. The parents said that during an online pre-orientation session held on July 25, the university administration assured them that the hostel was ready. Based on this assurance, several parents travelled to Ahmedabad from different parts of the country. ........
