The Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has launched a unique initiative to encourage citizens to segregate and properly dispose of plastic waste by offering Ganesha idols made from cow dung in exchange for plastic waste collected from their homes. Under the initiative, the first 100 citizens in each of Ahmedabad’s seven zones who submit clean and segregated plastic waste at designated AMC locations will receive a cow dung-made Ganesha idol. The distribution will be held from September 11 to 14, on a first-come, first-served basis. The initiative has been launched by the AMC’s Solid Waste Management Department as part of its efforts to reduce plastic pollution and promote awareness about waste segregation, recycling and responsible disposal. ......
