The Gujarat government plans to reduce the response time of the ‘108’ emergency ambulance service in tribal areas to around 10 minutes, aiming to ensure faster medical assistance in remote and geographically challenging regions. As part of the initiative, 89 new ambulances specifically designed to operate in the geographical conditions of tribal areas will be deployed across the state. According to the government, the current average response time of the 108 emergency ambulance service across Gujarat is around 13 minutes and 9 seconds. In tribal areas, however, the average response time is significantly higher at approximately 18 minutes and 32 seconds. The government said the deployment of the new ambulances is aimed at reducing the response time in tribal areas and bringing it closer to the state’s overall average. .........
