The Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) Food Department has sealed three food businesses and suspended the sale of over 3,800 kg of food products during inspections across the city for violations of food safety norms. The total estimated value of the food products placed under suspension is Rs. 9.22 lakh. The action covered units operating without the required FSSAI licence or registration, unhygienic food preparation and storage conditions, violations of packaging and labelling requirements, the use of banned synthetic food colour in namkeen, and the sale of ghee previously declared substandard. Among the major actions, M.M. Food Products in Vatva was sealed after officials found that sauces and other food products were being manufactured without the required FSSAI licence or registration. Officials also found unhygienic conditions and violations of packaging and labelling norms. Around 2,516 kg of soy sauce, chilli sauce, chutney, pumpkin and corn flour were placed under a stop-sale order, with an estimated market value of Rs. 1.75 lakh. ........
