The Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) sealed five establishments in Bodakdev for allegedly violating solid waste management regulations, including the use of banned plastic and littering on public roads. The action was taken by the North-West Zone Solid Waste Management Department as part of intensive inspections targeting business establishments and street vendors across all wards. The drive covered vegetable vendors, paan stalls, tea stalls and other units, particularly those found littering, failing to keep dustbins on their premises, or using, selling, storing or manufacturing banned plastic. Between September 28 and 29, the department inspected 149 units, issued notices to 119 establishments, confiscated 5 kg of plastic and collected fines totalling ₹1.02 lakh. The five establishments sealed during the drive were Havmor Ice Cream on Sindhu Bhavan Road, MR Gadgets Mobile Communication, RBL Bank on Rajpath Rangoli Road, Nagpal Chhole Bhature in Vastrapur, and Shop 7 at Kushal Apartment in Lad Society, all in Bodakdev. Havmor Ice Cream was sealed for allegedly using banned plastic, while the other four establishments were sealed for littering in public.
